Bid Office Lead

Kevala is looking for a Bid Office Lead to join our growing Operations team. This individual will be actively engaged in the opportunity through to the contracting phase of the bid lifecycle to coordinate winning proposals that advance Kevala’s mission to decarbonize the electric grid. The Bid Office Lead will report directly to the Vice President, Operations.

What you will be doing

  • Coordinate bid lifecycle activities from the opportunity to execution phases.
  • Identify potential sources of business for the company by researching, registering with and monitoring relevant procurement agencies and bid notification services.
  • Maintain the status of pipeline opportunities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tracking system and share monthly pipeline reports with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunity-specific goals, strategic fit with Kevala capabilities, financial considerations, and risks to frame successful proposals.
  • Manage the RFP capabilities compliance matrix and run the “Go”/”No-Go” evaluation process against inbound proposal requests to determine opportunity fit on proposal pursuits.
  • Participate in the development and review of proposal strategies and win themes, and manage the development of a Proposal Management Plan (PMP).
  • Conduct internal proposal kickoff meetings, lead regular proposal progress status meetings, and maintain the proposal calendar.
  • Collaborate with external partners and subcontractors when required.
  • Plan for and, as necessary, participate in external bid meetings, monitor bid site resources, and seek proposal clarification in Q&A sessions.
  • Tailor proposal outline and initial storyboarding content to individual opportunities.
  • Engage with internal subject matter experts in the proposal creation process, including: Product, Software and Platform, Professional and Advisory Services (PAS), Analytics and Methodology (A&M), and executive leadership team members.
  • Coordinate with opportunity leads on proposal writing/editing/rewriting efforts as needed.
  • Provide interim stages of review and internal evaluation of the technical, management, and overall proposal approach.
  • Ensure that the proposal structure complies with the customers' submittal requirements.
  • Develop pricing strategy with input from internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure final proposal deliverables are successfully submitted on time and track the bid decision notification progress.
  • Keep proposal templates and processes up to date, including standardized response sections, question answers, project outlines and schedules etc.

What you need to succeed

  • 5+ years of combined bid management, sales, marketing, and/or client delivery and RFP (request for proposal) writing experience.
  • Task oriented and detailed organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities at once with firm deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate across teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.

$130,000 - $160,000

This is a fully remote role which can be located anywhere within the United States. Please note, actual salaries may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, experience, and location.
