Product Marketer

Kevala is looking for a Product Marketer to join our expanding Marketing team. As our second marketing hire, you will be pivotal in driving go-to-market strategies, refining value propositions, optimizing packaging, and crafting compelling messaging for our enterprise clients. You will work closely with the Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to distill complex market and technical issues into clear, resonant materials that promote our platform and solutions. You will be an expert not just on our products but on our target audiences, understanding how and why they buy, and what it takes to achieve product/market fit. The ideal candidate has a passion for climate tech and a proven track record of success in fast-paced startup environments.

What you will be doing

  • Conduct market research to become Kevala’s expert on buyer personas, customer needs, decision criteria, market trends, and the competitive landscape, and incorporate these insights into product roadmaps and marketing strategies.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive adoption and revenue growth for Kevala’s product offerings, providing guidance to the go-to-market team.
  • Develop and collaborate on product messaging and positioning that differentiates Kevala’s offerings and translates features into resonant customer benefits.
  • Create and manage marketing assets and content that support all stages of the customer lifecycle, including landing pages, case studies, white papers, blog posts, testimonials, and presentations for customer types including utilities, regulators, community solar developers, and electric vehicle supply equipment developers.
  • Develop and execute demand generation and account-based marketing programs that align with Kevala’s customer lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute customer marketing programs to drive onboarding, adoption, and internal advocacy.
  • Create and manage sales tools, demo decks, training materials, and lifecycle communications, including feature announcements, pricing changes, and event preparations.
  • Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives, developing systems to measure and leverage product and user data to derive insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Report on key metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve business goals.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Philosophy, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in SaaS product marketing, management consulting, or product management, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and writing skills, with strong conceptual ability, collaborative skills, project management experience, creativity, and goal-setting capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Proven track record of effective collaboration with Product Management teams and the ability to develop and execute successful go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience with website engagement tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Kissmetrics, Mixpanel).
  • Familiarity with account-based marketing and demand generation strategies.
  • Experience with market research, data analysis, and proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM software, and Jira.
  • Expertise in using analytics and metrics to drive marketing strategy and decision-making.
  • Ability to adapt marketing strategies based on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Proactive and independent with a strong interest in learning about and interacting with customers, and a bias for action.
  • A campaign and writing portfolio to share during the interview process.
  • Peer, product manager, and marketing manager references.

What will make you stand out

  • Experience in energy and cleantech, particularly working with utilities, carbon, or transportation electrification.
  • Experience developing B2B and B2G content for LinkedIn.
  • Skills in data visualization, visual content creation, and mapping and analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced startup environment, particularly in scaling marketing efforts.
  • Experience in product lifecycle management and creating customer journey maps.
  • Strong network within the energy or cleantech industries, particularly among utilities and regulatory bodies.

$100,000 - $130,000

This is a fully remote role which can be located anywhere within the United States. Please note, actual salaries may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, experience, and location.
