Senior UX / Product Designer

Kevala is looking for a Senior UX/Product Designer to join our small, but growing, team. Your design work will deliver UX/UI designs for a variety of product streams while utilizing and contributing to the growth of our UX Framework and UI pattern library. Work includes the usual SaaS workflows (e.g. collaborative tools, user profiles and roles, licensing, contextual help, onboarding, etc.) as well as data analytic visualizations dashboards, geo-spatial data exploration, and collaborative planning tools. We’re a startup so there will be opportunity to apply your skills to various situations and design problems.  

Product Design at Kevala collaborates with cross-functional teams to facilitate discovery, ideation and deliver UX/UI design solutions appropriate to goals, always with a focus on the user. Design makes use of and builds systems and patterns to deliver efficiently and consistently for our platform product.

What you will be doing

  • Designing for usability, reuse, configurability, and modularity with work that delivers on both project and product needs, for multiple user types, while adding to our design and delivery systems.
  • Creating UI/UX designs for our SaaS software products based on user needs, customer feedback, and business goals.
  • Using user and competitive landscape research, testing, and other data to inform and/or validate your work.
  • Facilitating work sessions to understand problems, opportunity, requirements, and to support ideation of solutions.
  • Creating page flows and prototypes to conceptualize designs and convey design plans to end users, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Iterating on designs based on feedback, testing and other metrics.
  • Working with front end developers to provide appropriately detailed specifications of interactions, layouts, components, and styles, and then guiding them to successful implementation.
  • Utilizing, optimizing, and extending our UX/UI framework and design systems.

What you need to succeed

  • 7+ years of professional experience in creating and implementing UI/UX design for responsive web tools and services
  • Experience in defining details of UX/UI/Ix designs for data analytics, data visualizations, and dashboard UIs
  • Experience leading collaborative work sessions internally and with customers and/or users (journey-mapping, solution whiteboarding, requirements gathering, etc.)
  • Advanced skills with design programs (experience with Sketch is desired, Figma may be your preferred)
  • Experience creating page flows and interactive prototypes to support ideation, testing, and decision making
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize solutions within constraints
  • Ability to integrate your design solutions to existing UX/UI patterns and systems and/or extend and improve those systems
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple streams of work

$135,000 - $175,000

This is a fully remote role which can be located anywhere within the United States. Please note, actual salaries may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, experience, and location.
