On June 1st 2022, The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced a partnership aimed at helping clean energy resources connect to the grid. The Interconnection Innovation e-Xchange (i2X) will bring together partners to develop solutions for faster, simpler, and fairer interconnection of clean energy resources through better data, roadmap development, and technical assistance.
Sign up for the virtual kickoff event with Energy Secretary Granholm on June 7 to learn more about the partnership.
Kevala issued the following statement in response to the announcement:
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Interconnection Innovation e-Xchange (i2X) is a crucial step to accelerate the deployment of clean energy and ensure a safe and reliable grid. Kevala is proud to support this initiative as an inaugural partner.
As more solar, wind, and storage projects seek connection to the grid, we need to update our interconnection procedures to meet the increasing demand for clean energy.
We look forward to collaborating with DOE, the national labs, and all of the i2X partners to better understand the barriers to interconnection and develop a roadmap to achieve faster, simpler, and fairer interconnection to the grid.
